New Parties, Day One Over

May 1st, 2008

Night one of the Over The Top Festival is over. Thank you for all those that came out and attended I Think We’re Alone Now. It was a great film, and the Q&A session that followed with director Sean Donnelly was definitely a nice way to end the night.

A last minute party has been set up for Friday May 2nd at Teranga in Kensington Market with Bush League & Eamon McGrath. Jeremy Finkelstein and Daniel Vila are spinning beforehand and cover is PWYC. It will definitely be a lot of fun and worth checking out.

A reminder to everyone that tickets are available for all events. Online ticketing closes at midnight each day of the event, but it does mean tickets are sold out.

Tickets for Events

April 30th, 2008

Updated Film Information & Special Deals

April 29th, 2008

Jeff Wright put together an incredible film selection for this year’s Over The Top Festival. It’s really important to me to keep expanding into new areas, and Jeff has done a top job in arranging a diverse line-up of films that cater to everyone. Whether you’re into horror, documentary, dance, it’s programmed. That being said, to make things a little easier on the wallet, and so you can see some pretty amazing films, here’s an update on some day of film prices:

Thursday:

The Clown & Fuhrer & Frownland (with director Ronnie Bronstein) @ The Royal. 7pm. $10 for both screenings

Friday:

100 Tears, Hokuro Brothers & Pop Skull @ Innis Town Hall. 9pm. $10 for all three films.

Saturday:

Blood, Boobs & Beast, Exquisite Corpses, A Balancing Act, Silver Jew, The Milk Man Ballet, Special People & Good Copy, Bad Copy @ National Film Board of Canada. 12 noon. $10 for an all day pass. This means that you can see ten hours of movies if you felt so inclined for $10.

Venue Changes

April 26th, 2008

High Places w. Huckleberry Friends & Our Brother The Native has been moved to St. Stephen-in-the-Fields Church’s West Hall on May 3rd from Ukula. All tickets will be honoured, and the new venue is 2.5 blocks from the original, so come one, come all.
